The treatment team consists of specialists such as psychiatrists, physicians, social workers, counselors, nurses, mental health technicians, and ancillary specialties such as physical/speech therapy and a dietician as indicated. Autism Outreach Inc. – Behavioral Health Services

Autism Outreach, Inc. (AOI) is a small but expanding company serving children on the autism spectrum and their families. AOI utilizes an Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) approach to intervention with an emphasis on Verbal Behavior (VB), Fluency Instruction (FT) and Discrete Trial Teaching (DTT). In addition to ABA, we use Natural Environment Teaching and Incidental Teaching. Because the current research shows that ABA is most effective when done for 30-40 hours per week in the preschool child’s home, help from outside the family is generally necessary to fully implement a program. An intern with AOI will work one-on-one with a child in their home. Interns will perform ABA programs, using all/most areas of ABA (VB, FT & DTT). ACTS Suicide Services & Helpline is a private, non-profit agency that provides suicide prevention support in Northern Virginia. The primary component of this program is the crisis intervention hotline, which has an annual call volume of over 40,000. Established in 1981, Helpline is accredited by the Association of Suicidology and answers the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline on a backup basis. The content of these calls can range from assisting someone with locating mental health resources to providing emotional support to a grieving caller.
