CA Human Services is a statewide program that provides services to families, consumers, agencies/organizations, and professionals through the following: information and referral; technical Assistance in the form of consultation, as well as training, workshops and in-services (e.g. training for school personnel); networking; follow-along; collaboration and leadership. Our mission is to impact capacity-development in human service systems through strategic public-private resource pairing, leadership, and collaboration.
Interns will be provided with training in the application of behavior analytic principles. They will work intensively with clients and staff for individuals with autism in our Children’s and/or our Adult programs. They will also participate in parent/ provider training.
Duties
- Attending and participating in the weekly training provided for ser.
- Implementing techniques and procedures with on-site students
- Data collection/entry
Interns must be able to commit to at least 3 days per week on-site.
Pre-Requisites:
- Must meet all UMW and Department of Psychological Science internship requirements.
- Required courses:
- PSYC 231 – Infant and Child Development or PSYC 232 – Adolescent and Emerging Adult Development
- PSYC 253 – Fundamentals of Learning and Motivation
- Recommended courses:
- PSYC 211 – Psychopathology
- PSYC 320 – Psychology of Exceptional Children and Youth
Assessment:
- 42 hours of work per credit hour (most interns do 3 credits with 126 hours of work)
- Grade is based on on-campus supervision, agency evaluation, reflective journal, and a final paper
