Credit for AP, IB, CLEP, and Cambridge Exams

DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHOLOGICAL SCIENCE

 

The Department of Psychological Science credit policy for these exams is below. This policy is based on a review of exam material, course syllabi, and current policies at other colleges and universities in Virginia.

 

1. (3) or higher on an Advanced Placement examination

        3 = Non-major credit (3 credits)

        4 or 5 = PSYC 100 (3 credits)

2. (4) or higher on a Higher Level International Baccalaureate examination

        4 or higher = PSYC 100 (3 credits)

3. (5) or higher on a Standard Level International Baccalaureate examination

        5 or higher = PSYC 100 (3 credits)

4. (50) or higher on a CLEP examination

        50 or higher = PSYC 100 (3 credits)

5. (C) or higher on a Cambridge Advanced examination (A/AS)

        A, B or C on A level Exam = PSYC 100 (3 credits)

        A or B on A/S level Exam = PSYC 100 (3 credits)

        C on A/S level Exam = Non major credit (3 credits)
