The UMW Political Science and International Affairs department has joined Instagram! We would love to see you follow us @umwpsia. Newsletter
Another update the PSIA department works on are our annual newsletters including our recently-released Fall 2023 PSIA Newsletter! Please check it out for recent news on students, faculty, and alumni. Physical copies are available in our office suite and past newsletters are on our Department Newsletter page.
International Affairs Electives
Lastly, we wanted to provide more information on IA electives. We always provide this information at the start of registration, but for those unaware, we have a page about our Temporary IA Electives for Spring 2024 (these currently only apply for Spring 2024) and a list of Permanent IA Electives (these are always considered IA electives for each semester).
In course searches, these are designated INAF Electives, while in Banner, they have an attribute of IAEL. Some of these courses may still be updating their designation, but electives on our lists will count (if you are still unsure if a course counts after checking the lists, please reach out to the department chair).
Also be sure to check overlap credit limits between major requirements and minor requirements (in case of double majors, a minor, or multiple minors).
