Political Science and International Affairs students have a multitude of opportunities to learn outside the classroom. While the Fredericksburg area has many internship opportunities, our location midway between Washington D.C. and Richmond significantly expands the geographic and issue areas in which our students can find internships. A second set of opportunities involves research: students engage in research either to pursue a topic they are interested in or to learn about the process of research by enrolling in Undergraduate Research credits to work on existing faculty projects. Finally, our students take advantage of the variety of opportunities that UMW offers to study abroad. Explore this page and reach out to your advisor if you are interested in pursuing any of these opportunities!
