Why Should Somebody Study Mathematics at UMW?

Mathematics is the basis for many career opportunities. After receiving my degree, I had offers from contracting companies, banks, financial aid offices, and even local baseball teams. Math is so universal and everyone has a need for all or a portion of the skills you learn in obtaining a mathematics degree. At the University of Mary Washington, every math professor knows you by name and face. Their office doors are always open to help you during and outside of office hours, and their great sense of humor and lightheartedness makes learning enjoyable and easy. The University of Mary Washington is now looked at by employers as an impressive place to earn your undergrad degree. The knowledge I received from the UMW Mathematics department proves that I am now an impressive and worthy candidate for any employer.
