Department of Mathematics
The Mathematics Department offers a broad range of expertise in areas like algebra, analysis, combinatorics, discrete mathematics, number theory, topology, statistics, and applied mathematics, including dynamical systems, financial mathematics, numerical analysis, stochastic partial differential equations, and stochastic analysis. With such a wide variety of knowledge, students have the opportunity to explore the latest developments in mathematics.
We are excited to introduce a new math degree program with three specialized tracks: Applied Mathematics and Statistics, Data Science, and Mathematics. These tracks give students the flexibility to choose a path that aligns with their interests and career goals. Whether you’re drawn to theoretical mathematics, practical applications, or advanced data analysis, our courses cover both foundational concepts and cutting-edge topics in the field.
A degree in mathematics opens doors to many career paths, including opportunities in industry, government, education, and graduate studies. We also encourage double majors, allowing students to expand their professional options. For students in other disciplines, we offer Minors in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Actuarial Science, and Applied Statistics, which can complement and enhance their primary field of study.
At our department, we are committed to student success, both inside and outside the classroom. Our faculty is dedicated to helping students master the material, and we provide opportunities for independent study, undergraduate research, and internships to enrich your educational experience.
