Introducing this year’s Graduate in Residence, Abigail Gellene-Beaudoin!
Abigail Gellene-Beaudoin graduated from the University of Mary Washington in 2013 and earned her master of social work from the University of Southern California in 2014. She worked as a medical social worker for approximately 10 years providing counseling and play therapy to patients and families navigating anticipatory grief from a loved one’s terminal diagnosis. She has written two children’s books and won a local “everyday hero” award related to her work with children who have a parent with a terminal diagnosis. She recently transitioned to a new job as a psychotherapist at Peninsula Child & Family Services where she plans to continue her focus on complex/chronic illness, terminal illness, grief & loss, and perinatal mental health. She lives in Yorktown, VA with her husband and two children.
