Graduate School Workshop Tonight

Considering the possibility of applying to graduate school? Weighing options for the future?

The History and American Studies Department offers a workshop this evening (Thurs., 10/6). We will cover the basics of applying to graduate school from questions concerning the GRE to deciding why and where to go to graduate school. All students from the Humanities and Social Sciences are invited to attend.

Where/when:  7pm, Monroe Hall 240. Refreshments will be served.

Internship Opportunity on the Eastern Shore

Eastern Shore of Virginia Historical Society Internship

Summer Internship at the Eastern Shore of Virginia Historical Society and House Museum for identifying and cataloguing a large collection of historic artifacts, mostly ceramics from 18th and 19th century periods. Time frame flexible, for four to six weeks during late May to August 1, 2011. Applicant should have experience working with ceramics preferably at graduate level, and capable of working with minimal supervision. Possibility of assisting with field survey work on site. Also, option of assisting with museum functions. Housing provided (not meals) plus stipend of $150.00 per week. To apply, submit application letter and Curriculum Vita to ESVHS, P.O.
