Opportunity: Social Media & Administrative Compliance Intern for Neabsco District Supervisor

This internship offers a dual-focus experience within Supervisor Angry’s office. The intern will split their time between supporting the office’s social media presence and developing a compliance guide for Virginia Public Records Act requirements.


This is an in‑person or hybrid role designed to equip early‑career professionals with hands-on experience in political communications and government administration. Interns will collaborate with each member of Supervisor Angry’s staff, gaining exposure to the operations of local government and the day‑to‐day responsibilities of an elected office.

Preferred Qualifications

  • College students studying Political Science, Public Policy and Administration,
  • Communications, or Political Communication
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Interest in social media, public policy, or government operations
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Attention to detail and comfort with both creative and technical tasks

Responsibilities

Social Media & Communications:

  • Create content for the office’s social media platforms
  • Draft posts highlighting constituent services, events, and community updates
  • Monitor engagement and report on social media analytics
  • Assist with digital outreach and community engagement campaigns

Administrative Compliance:

  • Research and interpret requirements of the Virginia Public Records Act
  • Draft, organize, and format a compliance guide for office use
  • Assist staff with administrative tasks as needed
  • Support special projects related to local government operations

Compensation and Hours
