(SPRING 2013) Special Events Department Internship
Job Description
The intern’s main goal will be to work with the Membership and Events Director to plan and coordinate a major concert series, Sounds of Summer, for the summer of 2013. FAMCC is expanding their previous concert series to offer 22 concerts from the beginning of May through the end of September. Responsibilities include helping to book and confirm bands, create advertising materials, and working with radio and online advertising. This internship is project oriented and will give the intern experience in seeing an event through from coordination to execution of the first concert.
Duties
- identify and book talent for concerts
- create event marketing timeline and portfolio
- design and create advertising materials, including postcards and posters
- advertise concerts on online calendars, Facebook, and FAMCC website
- collateral duties may include helping with the advertising and execution of other special events in the spring
The ideal candidate is an outgoing, motivated individual who is always looking to learn and take the initiative in completing tasks; a service-oriented person with a willingness to help others.
Knowledge of Excel, Word and Microsoft Outlook is required. Knowledge of InDesign and/or Photoshop preferred. Some hours will be before or after regular 9:00am-5:00pm Museum hours.
