The department offers several opportunities for students to pursue their own research and occupational interests under faculty supervision. These include the individual study course and internships. The department also awards departmental honors to qualified students.

We maintain files of information to help students plan their futures on the fourth floor of Monroe. There is information about volunteer organizations; internship agencies; graduate programs in sociology, anthropology, and related disciplines; and career possibilities for our students.
