IRO Sat Sim Feb 24

February 21, 2024 by hparedes Leave a Comment

A flyer with event information and a background of four Star Wars characters posing together: Han Solo, Chewbacca, Leia Organa, and Luke Skywalker.UMW’s International Relations Organization (and Model UN) is hosting a Star Wars themed Saturday Simulation on February 24th in HCC 327 from 10 AM-4 PM. Join them for lots of fun! It is the debate style of a Model UN “Crisis Committee” where delegates represent different Star Wars characters in the era of the recently-born New Republic to solve problems that are arising.

Everyone is welcome to join; you do not have to have participated in a simulation before. If you have not been in one, IRO will prepare you when you arrive there. For any questions, contact IRO at their Instagram @umw.iro or other social media.

To attend, please sign up at the Sat Sim Sign-Up form. After filling out the form, further information such as historical background and character profiles will be provided.

Aside from Sat Sims, IRO also has weekly meetings at 7 PM Thursdays (for the location, contact IRO). They debate and discuss international affairs topics, attend national, competitive conferences for Model United Nations, put on charity events, and much more. Please check out their Sat Sim and other events!
