Something that everyone should know about me—I love lacrosse. And–after graduating with a BA in American Studies–I found my first job coaching lacrosse and mentoring underserved students in the Boston Public School system through MetroLacrosse. MetroLacrosse is a non-profit tied to AmeriCorps’s Up2Us Sports program, which helps young people learn about sports that normally they would not have access to. I learned a lot about myself that first year out of college, and (lucky for me) could share my passion for lacrosse. Now, I am working at Tufts Health Plan, an insurance company, in Watertown, Massachusetts, in the Customer Relations Department. Working in Customer Relations gives me a chance to help members navigate their plan options as well as assist them with benefit inquiries. I really enjoy learning the different computer systems and general healthcare policies. Truly evidence that an interdisciplinary degree opens all types of doors.
