Pi Sigma Alpha, the national honor society for Political Science students, hosts an annual conference highlighting student research. UMW Political Science students Maya Jenkins and Mary-Elise Alworth presented their research at its 2023 conference.
Mary-Elise presented on Virginia’s political history, race and place in Virginia, gender and campaigns, gender and representation, and resulting expectations for this research.
Maya presented her research on “Abolition, Survival, and Black Female College Students.”
