Career Talk: Eric Halsey (UMW, ’11) – Monday, 9/25, 4 pm

Eric Halsey photoEric Halsey, recent UMW alumnus, History major, Fulbright grantee, and Study Abroad student, will discuss his independent career as a startup strategist based in Sofia, Bulgaria, and how he parlayed his collegiate study abroad experience into an international career.

​The talk will take place on Monday, Sept. 25, at 4 pm, in Monroe 210.

“Intimate Revolution: Communist Women and the Spanish Civil War”

Dr. Kirschenbaum is the author of Small Comrades: Revolutionizing Childhood in Soviet Russia, 1917-1932 (2000), The Legacy of the Siege of Leningrad, 1941-1995: Myth, Memories, and Monuments (2006), and International Communism and the Spanish Civil War: Solidarity and Suspicion (2015). She will share intimate stories of women communists in the Spanish civil war (1936-1939) exploring how communist commitments shaped personal lives and personal relationships influenced political understandings.
