Geography Department Graduate Assistant position

The Geography Department is seeking a Graduate Student Assistant for the 2019-20 academic year. This person will tutor undergraduate students in geospatial courses, and will help develop GIS materials with geography faculty. Pay is $10 per hour, for up to 10 hours per week. The position is open to MSGA students only. This position requires a person who is organized, methodical, and pays attention to detail. Geography Department Student Aide positions

The Geography Department is seeking two student aides for the 2019-20 academic year – one is a general aide position, while the other is for a GIS lab aide. These positions require a person with initiative, who will look for work when nothing has been assigned, and who is organized, methodical, and pays attention to detail. Daily assignments vary significantly. The most interesting involve doing research for professors, assisting with research, finding data, creating maps, and tutoring students. The more mundane includes making copies and pdf documents, alphabetizing student assignments, and recording completed assignments. The Lab Aide position requires at least 8 credits of GIS courses so that the person is able to help students with their lab assignments. Submit papers for the AAG Council Award for Outstanding Graduate Student Paper at a Regional Meeting.   This award is intended to encourage graduate student participation in Regional Division meetings and supports their attendance at the AAG Annual Meeting. The Laura Bassi Scholarship

The Laura Bassi Scholarship, which awards a total of $8,000 thrice per annum, was established by Editing Press in 2018 with the aim of providing editorial assistance to postgraduates and junior academics whose research focuses on neglected topics of study, broadly construed.
