Student Submissions for NCPE

National Council for Preservation Education Application to Present a Paper at the 2013 National Trust for Historic Preservation Conference Indianapolis, IN 10 April 2013   The National Council for Preservation Education (NCPE) is pleased to announce it will select four students currently enrolled in a NCPE member historic preservation program to present papers at the 2013 Annual Conference of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, Indianapolis, IN, October 29 - November 2, 2013. The theme of this year’s conference is “Preservation at the Crossroads,” which the National Trust intends to challenge preservationists to “think outside the box” in order to examine new and innovative ideas to grow the historic preservation field in the 21st century. Heritage Documentation Program offering prize competition

The Heritage Documentation Program is pleased to announce the Charles E. Peterson Prize Competition and the Leicester B. Holland Prize Competition. To enter the competition all you need to do is submit your best architectural drawing. The Peterson prize calls for a set of architectural measured drawings and the Holland Prize recognizes the best SINGLE sheet of drawing. These drawings need to be submitted to the HABS Collection of the Library of Congress and will be judged base on drafting, composition, depiction of significant features, field records and dimensioning and annotation. Call for Student Abstracts for APT NYC 2013

APT is pleased to announce its Call for Student Abstracts for APT NYC 2013, taking place in Times Square from October 11-15, 2013. Abstracts are due March 31, 2013.Job searching in this economy is still tough, but students who participate in the APT fall Conference Student Scholarships program will have an advantage, enjoying networking and access that is unparalleled in the preservation/conservation world. Many Student Scholars have met their future employers when their efforts were highlighted at a Conference. All you have to do is submit a 500-word abstract that summarizes your research or project that addresses an aspect of preservation/conservation technology, no later than March 31. The selected students will be assigned a mentor in the APT College of Fellows, who will walk them through the oral presentation process required at the Conference and introduce them to other APT members.
