Archaeology Field School at Sherwood Forest Plantation

This summer is your chance to get your hands dirty on a true archaeological excavation. The Sherwood Forest Plantation in Stafford County, VA was occupied throughout the Antebellum, Civil War, and Post Bellum periods. Call for Proposals: Preservation Conference on Automotive Heritage

The Historic Vehicle Association (HVA) and the Historic Preservation & Community Planning Program at the College of Charleston are pleased to announce the following call for papers for an international conference on the preservation of automotive heritage. “Putting Preservation on the Road: Protecting Our Overlooked Automotive Heritage in the Twenty-first Century” will be held from October 20-22, 2016 at the Historic Vehicle Association Research Laboratory in Allentown, Pennsylvania.  Proposals should be no more than 500 words and a brief CV/resume should be included. Thomas Jefferson’s Poplar Forest Field School

From May 15-May 28, Thomas Jefferson's Poplar Forest will be holding its 2016 Architectural History/Architectural Restoration Field School. The program will teach 10 participants an overview of the philosophy, process, and techniques for museum-quality architectural restoration and conservation.
