Paid Internship Opportunities with NASA

I am writing to inform you about 10-week paid research opportunities with the NASA DEVELOP National Program, open to current students and recent college graduates as well as transitioning career professionals. NASA DEVELOP projects focus on helping local and international communities address their environmental concerns while utilizing NASA's Earth observing fleet of satellites. NASA DEVELOP operates at twelve locations across the country at NASA Centers and other regional locations. Locations local to UMW include Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD, and Langley Research Center in Hampton, VA. The Piedmont Environmental Council is one of the most effective community-based environmental groups in the country. We work in nine-counties bordering Shenandoah National Park, from Loudoun to Albemarle, on a range of issues including land and water conservation, land-use policy to create high-quality communities, strengthening rural economies, restoring wildlife habitat, improving people's access to nature, and more. PEC Fellowship Program: Twelve students are selected for, as we say, a once in a lifetime opportunity to spend seven weeks in the Piedmont while studying with seasoned professionals in land conservation, planning, agriculture, historic preservation, mapping, and more. It's much more than an internship -- for the first five weeks, the program combines classroom discussion, field trips, and hands-on activities to give participants a comprehensive understanding of our work.
