Christopher Burns earned a BS from Pennsylvania State University in Physics, Astronomy and Astrophysics. His current title is “Senior Scientist for Future Targeting Concepts” at NSWC Dahlgren Division; he supports the Submarine Launch Ballistic Missile (SLBM) Weapon System, the Navy’s leg of the nuclear triad. This workforce develops and maintains software that allows the SLBM to be targeted and launched, which requires expertise in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Astronomy, Geophysical environment data, and other areas.
