Brenta Blevins


Brenta Blevins specializes in rhetoric and composition, with a particular focus on digital rhetoric and writing across multiple media and genres. She researches how we communicate in an era of evolving communication technologies by analyzing the new media of Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, and Mixed Reality. She often teaches and writes about multimodality, or the use of multiple communication modes, such as words, images, sound, and gesture in combination, whether in traditional or digital media. Other interests include literacy in traditional and new media writing; digital rhetoric used in personal expression and social persuasion; workplace writing, including technical writing; and futurism as a means of predicting, shaping, and understanding the future of humanity. Dr. Blevins teaches courses in Writing Studies and Digital Studies.
