2013’s Henry W. Hewetson Award Recipient

The 2013 recipient of the Henry W. Hewetson Award is Nicole Cochran ’13.  The award is given to a graduating senior in economics for academic excellence and service to the department.

OMICRON DELTA EPSILON INDUCTS NEW MEMBERS AND ELECTS OFFICERS

Omicron Delta Epsilon (ODE), the economics honor society inducted new members and elected officers for the 2013-2014 year.  The new members are Lavar Edmonds ’14, Sarah Dengler ’14, Ian Potere ’14, Luke Mendelsohn ’14, Will Apperson ’13, Russell Ruud ’15, Casey Dunlap ’13, Taylor Knight ’14, Clare Stechschulte ’14, Robert Herse ’13, and Chelsea LeHew ’14.

The officers for the 2013-2014 year are Luke Mendelsohn, President, Taylor Knight, Vice President, Lavar Edmonds, Treasurer, and Clare Stechschulte, Secretary.

Economics Majors and Minors Inducted Into Phi Beta Kappa

Sarah Decker, Cooper Lawton, and Colin McElhinny were inducted into Phi Beta Kappa at a ceremony on Sunday, April 7, 2013.  Phi Beta Kappa is the oldest and most prestigious academic honor society in the United States.  Phi Beta Kappa was founded in 1776 at the College of William and Mary.  The UMW chapter, Kappa of Virginia, was established at 1971.

Economics Students Participate in ESP Conference in Dallas
