Environmental Science – Social Science Major

The Environmental Science-Social Sciences major focuses on economic, political, and sociological interactions of humans and the natural world. Our department believes that to address environmental challenges, one must have an understanding of the science underlying them.  To this end, the Social Sciences major begins with a solid foundation in chemistry, biology, and geology.  With help from a faculty advisor, each student then selects from a broad array of environmental science, geography, political science, economics, and sociology courses to create a major that reflects his or her interests and goals.

Consult the current Academic Catalog  for details and course requirements for the major, and be sure to visit our department’s main webpage for departmental news and an overview of all of our offerings.
