Biography
Dr. Caitie Finlayson is the author of several open textbooks, including World Regional Geography, Introduction to Human Geography, and Human Geography: A Connected Approach. She is also the co-author of the open lab manual, Quantitative Methods in Geography. Her research focuses on the geography of religion, food geographies, and environmental geography, and she has published numerous peer-reviewed articles, along with a book chapter in the Handbook of the Geographies of Religion. In addition, she is actively engaged in research on open educational resources. Her current project explores the impact of climate change on weather-related school closures.
Outside of her academic work, Dr. Finlayson enjoys a wide range of creative hobbies, including woodworking, pottery, baking, and playing drums. She also enjoys writing fiction and is a member of Sisters in Crime, a national organization supporting women crime writers, where she serves as a grant reviewer.
