Dr. Shumona Dasgupta recently presented a paper, titled “Partitions of Memory: Trauma and Narrative in Jyotirmoyee Devi’s The River Churning,” at the South Asian Literary Association conference, in Vancouver. Additionally, her essay “The Extraordinary and the Everyday: Locating Violence in Women’s Narratives of the Partition” was published in Indian Partition in Literature and Film, co-edited by Rini Bhattacharya Mehta and Debali Mookerjea-Leonard (Routledge, 2015).
