Professor Barrenechea has been selected to participate in a 2014 Jessie Ball duPont Summer Seminar sponsored by the National Humanities Center. The seminar is called “Globalization and the Varieties of Modern Capitalism.” Dr. Barrenechea has also recently published a peer-reviewed entry that forms part of the decennial “state of the discipline” report of the Comparative American Literature Association, contributing a piece on “American Literature” as a hemispheric object of study is part of an “Ideas of the Decade” section.
