Individual Study Opportunity at Belmont

Gari Melchers Home and Studio is starting a new collections program that will be used to document, archive and manage the natural, archaeological, decorative and built objects located in the gardens and grounds of the 28 acre estate. The museum is seeking a student to help start this program from scratch.

The student would accession objects into PastPerfect version 5, and add the history, documents, and curatorial information . Each object would also be linked to an electronic map that places the objects in GIS. PastPerfect or similar archival software experience, and GIS knowledge is preferred. The student must have access to transportation to the estate which is located in Falmouth, VA, about 3 miles from the main campus.
