Internships
Geography Majors are encouraged to find internships for at least one semester or in the summer during their junior or senior years. Internships allow students to further develop skills and knowledge in environmental issues, urban planning, image analysis, cartography, geographic information systems, and other subfields.
University of Mary Washington’s proximity to Washington DC gives students access to the greatest concentration of geography-related work sites in the United States. Over the past few years, students have worked at paid and unpaid internships in the Federal Government, private industry, local governments, and non-profit organizations.
Internship and job opportunities – as well as speaker and event announcements – are posted on our Bulletin Board!
