Application Process
Determine Eligibility
First, determine if you are eligible for the BLS program. If you have questions about your eligibility or would like to schedule an individual pre-admission advising appointment, please call the UMW Office of Admissions at (540) 654-2000 or submit a Request for More Information form.
Apply for Admission
Submit the UMW transfer application and be sure to select Adult Degree Completion as your program of interest. Readmits may read about readmission policies and reapply via the instructions here.
Suggested application deadlines are:
| March 1 | For summer admission |
| March 15 | For fall admission |
| October 1 | For spring admission |
Students may apply at any time; however, course options will be limited with late admission.
Send Transcripts
After submitting your application, request official transcripts from each institution you have attended. Electronic transcripts must be sent directly from your institution(s) to admit@umw.edu. Paper copies must be sent by your institution(s) and delivered, sealed, to:

Additionally, any standardized test scores or official military and professional coursework transcripts should be considered for academic credit. This includes official AP, IB, CLEP scores, and the Joint Services Transcript (JST). Service members and veterans can create an account and request their JST at the JST website.
