Inorganic chemistry is a course that covers the modern theories of atomic structure and chemical bonding and their applications to molcular and metallic structures and coordination chemistry. The image on the right shows the iron in a heme coordinated to a histidine in a blood protein such as hemoglobin. The laboratory course explores the principles of inorganic chemistry using selected experiments designed to prepare and characterize selected inorganic compounds.
