Hongbo “Hope” Tang

Adjunct Instructor of Chinese

Hongbo (Hope) Tang is a native Chinese speaker. She received two Master degrees in History from Northwest University (1993) and East Tennessee State University (2007). In total Hope has 20+ years of extensive coursework and academic experience in Chinese language, history and culture in Chinese/American colleges and private language schools. She has been teaching beginning Chinese 101 /102; intermediate Chinese 201/202 and advanced Chinese 300C /491 at UMW since 2012. She is also involved with adult language training programs; kids/ junior language classes and sharing Chinese history and culture with the community.

Hope has had 14 journal papers published in Chinese or English and currently and is assisting on editing an English-Chinese journal The Voice of Han .
She is currently serving as the leader of local Chinese community.
