The Department of Modern Foreign Languages offers three minors in Business Language:
Business French, German, and Spanish
These minors consist of language and culture courses in French, German, or Spanish at the Intermediate and Advanced levels, an Internship, as well as 3 courses in either an Economics Track or a Business Track.
Business French consists of 24 credits, including FREN 311, 312, 313, and 316; 3 credits from FREN 411, 412, or 499; and one of the following tracks: Track A: BUAD 131, 132, and one Business course at the 300-level or higher; Track B: ECON 201, 201, and one Economics course at the 300-level or higher.
Business German consists of 26 credits, including GERM 393, 394, 313, 317 or 485b or 485c, 499 or BUAD 499 or ECON 499 (for at least 1 credit), and one of the following two tracks: A) BUAD 131 + 132 + one BUAD at the 300-level or higher; B) ECON 201 + 202 + one ECON at the 300-level or above.
Business Spanish consists of a total of 9 courses (27 credits) beyond Spanish 202: One course in culture from Span 315, Span 316, or Span 320; two courses in language, Span 317 and Span 318; both advanced courses in business and translation, Span 393 and Span 414; one course from Span 499 or Buad 499 or Econ 499; and one of the following two tracks of Business or Economic courses: Track A) BUAD 131,132, and a Business course at the 300-level or higher or Track B) ECON 201, 202, and an Economics course at the 300-level or higher.
