Philosophy Honors

The degree “Bachelor of Arts with Honors in Philosophy” signifies distinction and excellence in the study of philosophy at the undergraduate level. The following provides some general information. Students who may be interested in pursuing honors should speak to their advisors.

General Requirements

an overall GPA of at least 3.2 (3.5 in Philosophy)
Phil 485 during senior year
a substantial written thesis
an oral, public defense of the thesis
deposit of the thesis in CPR and Simpson libraries
