Please note that by policy students must apply for virtually all scholarships (except where indicated below) through the university’s scholarship portal. As of this writing, the portal is scheduled to open February 1; the department’s scholarship committee will begin reviewing applications on March 1. Laura V. Sumner Scholarship | approx. $4700 | Awarded to the rising junior or senior Classics major who has performed best in his or her undergraduate Classics major. Very often this student has studied Latin and/or Greek (or both) at the upper level and impressed the whole Classics faculty in coursework.
