Faculty-Led Study Abroad During Spring Break
Dr. Polack led engaging faculty-led trips during spring break that immersed a group of enthusiastic students in digital storytelling. Drawing from her previous experiences in Iceland, Brazil, and Argentina, she shared captivating stories about how different cultures utilize digital media to share their narratives. As they explored various media centers and creative enterprises, Dr. Polack seamlessly connected their hands-on experiences to the concepts taught in her Digital Storytelling course. Her dynamic teaching style facilitated discussions on the significance of narrative structure, visual elements, and audience engagement, inspiring students to think critically about their storytelling practices. She is excited to lead another group to Chile and Easter Island in Spring 2025, promising an even deeper exploration of storytelling across diverse cultures. Students who returned from the trip were enriched with knowledge and invigorated with new ideas and a passion for crafting their digital stories.
