Hiring season is in full swing here at STA, and that means more jobs than ever are opening up for great science teachers. Each year we help nearly 600 private and independent schools in Mid-Atlantic and Southern states find candidates. STA currently has 176 science teaching jobs listed for the 2015-16 school year, including 37 for Biology.

Requirements:
Candidates do not have to be in a teacher-preparation program or major in education to be considered for faculty positions at outstanding independent schools. While a degree in science education is desirable, most secondary-school teachers are hired based on their major—their subject knowledge—and their gifts for working with young people. Candidates should have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
