This plan is designed for students in the Germanna Community College nursing program who intend to transfer to the BSN Completion Program at UMW. The concurrent enrollment plan offers two benefits to the student:
- While in the community college nursing program, these students can get a head-start on the BSN coursework by taking UMW’s 10 courses
- These students will be guaranteed admission to our BSN Completion Program when they graduate from the community college with an AAS in Nursing degree, and they obtain their RN license.
After graduating from the community college nursing program, the student will transfer to the BSN-C Program and complete the remaining NURS courses. Note: you will need to earn you RN license (pass the NCLEX) before you graduate!

UMW and GCC recognize the need for RNs to earn baccalaureate degrees in nursing through an education system which promotes seamless academic progression. This agreement permits GCC nursing students to be concurrently enrolled in the BSN Completion Program while completing their Associate of Applied Science degree in nursing.
