101, 102 — Beginning Chinese (3,3)

An introduction to Mandarin Chinese in both its spoken and written form. Equal emphasis on all four skill areas: speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Required sessions in the language laboratory.

201, 202 – Intermediate Chinese (3, 3)

Prerequisite for 201: CHIN 102, or equivalent. Prerequisite for 202: CHIN 201, or equivalent. Second-Year Mandarin Chinese in both its spoken and written form. Equal emphasis on all four skill areas: speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Required sessions in the language laboratory. Students with credit for a higher level course in Chinese may not take this course.
