Rappahannock Council Against Sexual Assault

The Rappahannock Council Against Sexual Assault (RCASA) is a private, non-profit agency that provides sexual violence response and awareness services in the city of Fredericksburg and the surrounding counties of Caroline, King George, Stafford, and Spotsylvania. Two main types of services are provided: direct client services and education and public awareness.

RCASA offers a number of different internship opportunities. Interns can focus on counseling (e.g. support groups, hotline work), court advocacy, educational outreach (community- and/or school-based), research, program development and evaluation, or some combination of these. RCASA is also interested in expanding their services to be more sensitive to multicultural issues. Given this, interns who are bilingual (especially in English and Spanish) are highly desired.

Duties

RCASA internships can consist of any number of different aspects due to the opportunities for specialization.
