3 +4 Accelerated Pharmacy Agreement
Program Description
UMW in partnership with Shenandoah University provides students interested in Pharmacy a way to obtain Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree in less time than usual through the 3+4 Accelerated Pharmacy agreemet.
In the Accelerated Pharmacy program, students complete 3 years at UMW, and when accepted into the BJD Pharmacy program will obtain their Bachelors from UMW upon successful completion of the first year of the Pharmacy program. Students gain the Pharm D. after successful completion of an additional 3 years. The total number of years is reduced by 1 over those that complete the Bachelors Degree first. Students majoring in Biology may use the first year of the Pharmacy program to fulfill 8 credits in the major and all students complete the AMW General Education. requirement with the first year course. Additionally, Biomedical Science students completed the capstone with under the Accelerated Pharmacy program.
There are certain requirements to be met and students who are interested in the Accelerated Pharmacy program should contact the University Pre-Health Advisor, Dr. Deborah O’Dell for more information.
