Learn Japanese language and culture at UMW.

UMW started offering Japanese language courses in Fall 2020.

Along with language classes, the Japanese program hosts events such as Japanese cooking classes and movie screenings to spread Japanese culture. We also offer tutoring and conversation hours to support students’ learning. Our language assistant will offer study sessions to support students who are taking Japanese classes.

You can combine Japanese with other disciplines, such as International Affairs, Asian religion or Asian art history, you can pursue a minor in Asian Studies, or you can choose to do a special major in Japanese Studies.
