The German Program at the University of Mary Washington<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Through courses in German, students gain linguistic proficiency as well as understanding of the literatures and cultures of the German-speaking world. A wide variety of electronic and online resources are used extensively to supplement classroom instruction. Upper-level classes are conducted entirely in German.<\/p>\n\n\n

Double majors are possible. Students have the choice between two minors, and non-major minor students may also take advantage of the language program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Department of Modern Foreign Languages cooperates with a variety of overseas study programs,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

advises and encourages students wishing to study abroad, and helps in planning their foreign study programs. Credits can be accepted from abroad to fulfill major requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Graduates in German may pursue careers in government or in private fields in which the knowledge of this language and culture is essential, including interpreting, translating, research, social services, education, or international business.\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
