The Rountree Endowment for Geography<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

To honor the 50th Anniversary of the Mary Washington Geography Department, Jeff and Lisa Rountree worked with the department and dozens of other alumni to establish to Rountree Endowment for Geography.  Funds are commonly used to purchase data or equipment, to support travel to research sites, conferences, or study abroad locations, or to advance student experiences in any way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students who require funding for some activity should speak with their advisor, the supervisor of the activity, or the Department Chair. A short letter of request with\u00a0 justification will be required.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • A group of ten students attended the esri Federal GIS conference, Feb 13-14, in Washington DC. Registration of $179.00 per student was paid through the Rountree Endowment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Elisa Luckabaugh, “The Effect of Building Layout, Atmospheric Conditions, and Elevation on Surface-Level Wind Speeds at the University of Mary Washington”<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Victoria Gallaway attended the AAG conference virtually and helped Dr. Millones run a workshop<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
