Cultural History Fellow at Bull Run Mountains Natural Area Preserve

A new fellowship program has just been started at Bull Run Mountains NAP, and the application is open; we’d love to have GIS/Geography or MSGA students apply!

This is our first round with this fellowship and we are hoping to start with some preliminary research into some of the families within the Bull Run Mountains and their associated homestead sites. I think that there are some pretty enticing research/subject matter opportunities that our prospective fellow could pursue that might be of interest to some cultural geographers (…such as looking into aspects/characteristics of the surrounding landscape and how/if it affected the socio-economic disparity and marginalization of most of the families within the mountains … and ideas beyond that!).
