Give Back to ENLI

Employ an Eagle

“But what can you do with a major in English and Linguistics?”

Alumni of UMW can make a big difference in helping our current students make connections for internships and careers.  To find out how you can give advice or aid to students developing their professional skills or seeking a job, please contact the Center for Career and Professional Development.

Donate to Recognize a Friend, Professor, or Loved One

Did you know that you can make a donation to UMW that is specifically designated for the Department of English and Linguistics?  Please consider honoring that professor who changed your life, one of your friends from college, or a loved one who valued literature and learning by making a donation in his or her name.  Or simply designate your gift to benefit the entire Department, as done by recent alumni such as Kathleen Nicole Watson, ’10. Thank you for giving back!

Contribute to the Dr. Taddesse Adera UMW Scholarship

If you were a student of Dr. Taddesse Adera, perhaps you’d like to contribute to the UMW Scholarship in his name.   The Department of English and Linguistics established a scholarship fund in honor of Professor Adera’s extraordinary contributions to Mary Washington College and the University of Mary Washington community.  Donations in his honor may be sent to the University of Mary Washington Foundation–Adera Scholarship, 1119 Hanover Street, Fredericksburg, VA 22401.  You may also contact University Advancement.

Support an ELC Program

The Department of English and Linguistics thanks Laurie Mansell-Reich (Class of 1979) and her husband Henry Reich for their recent generosity, which helped to sponsor the Book-in-Common Program.
