Internships<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

An internship<\/strong> can give you valuable experience and could even be a gateway to a great career.  Our students have had great success landing internships with private industry as well as government agencies and NGOs (non-government organizations).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How do you get an internship?<\/strong> There are several ways to obtain an internshp: A business or organization may contact UMW or our department and we will try to match the internship’s profile with the interests of our students.  Or a student may contact someone in industry or government and arrange for an internship own their own.  Many of our graduates now hold positions in industry and call our department with internship offers.  Talk to any Earth and Environmental Sciences faculty member to find out more about internships or visit UMW’s Center for Career and Professional Development’s Internship<\/a> page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
