In fall 2015, several groups at the University of Mary Washington applied and were granted admission to the illustrious and learned society of the American Academy in Rome.  Those groups include the department of Classics, Philosophy, and Religion; the department of History and American Studies; the department of Art and Art History; the department of Modern Languages and Literature; the Simpson Program in Medieval Studies; and the dean of the College of Arts and Sciences.  Faculty in institutional members are invited to programs in New York and Rome and are invited to apply for fellowships at the Academy.  We look forward to a long and fruitful period of association with the AAR and its collegial and learned society! … [Read more...]
