1950’s

Marigene Mulligan Duff ’53, earned an MA from Ohio State University in Speech/Language Pathology, followed by a PhD from Northwestern University in Language Pathology. She is a Professor Emeritus of Communicative Disorders at Emory University and is now in private practice.

Betsy Anne Holmes ’52, attended the Yale Graduate School of Drama. She is the first woman to serve as chair of the Maine Medical Center Tertiary Care Hospital. She is currently serving on the License Board for Medicine for the state of Maine and the Hospice of Southern Maine. Christine Harper Hovis ’55, has run her own business, The Dance Shop, in San Luis Obispo, CA, for the past 25 years. She has also been involved in arts councils and children’s theatre.

Edie Kleinpetee (Edythe Wagner) ’51, is a member of Actor’s Equity Association and has worked continuously throughout the Southeast US. She also directs at the Peacock Playhouse, a summer theatre in Hayesville, NC, and teaches theatre history in the Elderhostel program at Young Hairie College in Georgia.

Marianne McDermott ’57, earned her law degree from Duquesne University Law School in 1978 and is a member of the District of Columbia Bar Association. From 1987 to 2000, Marianne was President, CEO, and owner of Resources for Group Management, Inc., a non-profit association management firm. Jeannine Raymond ’58, was an Interior Designer for 26 years before opening the Villa Rosa Inn in Palm Springs, CA. Her son, Jay, is a Real Estate Agent and her daughter, Gail, is a Social Worker in California.

Patricia Ann Wise Ritter ’51, earned her MA in communications from Ohio State. She earned Equity membership in 1963 and went on to create and star in a local television program for children, The Janey Jingles Show. She has acted in 50 plays, including Blithe Spirit, As You Like It and On Golden Pond. She also developed The House of the Christmas Mouse, a fundraiser for cystic fibrosis research.
