Theatre Major Reid Moffatt ’14 may have just finished working sound for Into The Woods, but as always, there’s more work for her on the horizon! In addition to her jobs as Technical Director for Studio 115 and Accounting Assistant for the Department of Theatre and Dance, Reid is building her resume in a big way by taking on an internship at Disney World this Spring!
The Department of Theatre and Dance had a few questions to ask Reid about this exciting opportunity.
T&D: What is your major?
T&D: What’s your main focus in theatre?
Reid: Technical Production.
T&D: How did you first get involved with theatre?
Reid: In high school, my first show was Aida and I’ve been in every production since then.
T&D: What is your favorite show you’ve worked on at UMW?
Reid: RENT. It was my first time working sound, and I learned a lot during that experience. Plus it’s one of my favorite musicals.
T&D: What are your plans after graduation?
Reid: I don’t know yet. Maybe I’ll continue to work at Disney, or in Chicago somewhere.
T&D: What is your favorite word? Least favorite word?
T&D: What is your favorite kind of candy?
T&D: If you could work on any play or musical, which one would it be?
Reid: The Lion King.
T&D: Do you have any interests outside of theatre?
Reid: I like writing and swimming. I also like volunteering with animals.
T&D: Why did you decide to take a semester off to work for Disney?
Reid: It’s been a dream of mine since I was a little girl, and this is a great opportunity to get a foot in the door working there. Also, I get free passes to Disney world.
